At the entrances to spaces protected by a fixed installation and at its operating stations.
What it means in practice
This space is covered by a fixed fire-extinguishing installation (CO2, foam or water mist). Before the agent is released the space must be evacuated: when you hear the installation alarm, you leave immediately.
Legal basis
Annex to IMO resolution A.1116(30) (adopted 05.12.2017), table of fire-fighting equipment markings. Mandatory on ships built from 01.01.2019; older ships may carry signs per resolution A.760(18). Requirements for the equipment: SOLAS chapter II-2 and the FSS Code. Fire control plan symbols are a separate set (table 3 of the annex), not covered by this card.
