1. What this site is
SeamanEnglish ("the site") provides educational materials for seafarers: practice questions, tests and guides about maritime English and recruitment testing. The site is free to use, with no accounts and no payments. If that ever changes, these terms will be updated and clearly announced before any payment is taken.
2. What this site is not
- We are an independent training site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Marlins, Seagull, Ocean Technologies Group or any test provider or maritime administration.
- We do not issue certificates and our scores have no official standing. Only the official test providers and your employer decide your result.
- We do not guarantee any score, employment outcome or contract. Our materials help you practise; the result depends on you.
- Our practice questions are original. We do not reproduce real exam questions, and we ask you not to send us any.
3. Using the materials
All content on this site (questions, audio, guides, design) is protected by copyright and belongs to SeamanEnglish unless stated otherwise. You may use it for your personal study. You may not copy, republish, sell or redistribute it, scrape it in bulk, or use it to build a competing question bank. Sharing links to the site is always welcome.
4. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the site, probe it for vulnerabilities, or use it for anything unlawful. That is the whole rule.
5. Liability
The site is provided "as is". We work hard to keep information accurate and current, but test formats, prices and employer requirements change and we may not catch every change immediately. Always confirm critical details with the test provider or your agency. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions made on the basis of the materials on this site.
6. AI-assisted content and synthetic voices
All audio on this site is synthetic speech generated from scripts written for this site, using licensed voices; no real person, vessel or radio traffic is recorded or imitated, and synthetic audio is labelled as such wherever it plays. The site is built with the help of AI tools. The materials are training material, not a substitute for the official publications and the procedures of your ship and company.
7. Changes
We may update these terms as the site grows. The date at the top always tells you when the terms last changed.
