Offline mode
Internet on board is slow, expensive or gone. Ashore it can be just as tight: a data bundle you count in megabytes, a shared connection, a village with one bar of signal. Save the tests and the recordings on your phone while you have a connection, and study anywhere, for free, with the aeroplane mode on. The files stay on your device; nothing is sent to us, and you can remove them here at any time.
Save on this device
Choose what to keep. You can add the other sets later. Saving happens in the background; keep this page open until it says done.
Nothing running.
Checking this device...
How to do it, step by step
- Do it in port, on wi-fi. The first set is about 36 MB; a ship connection will not enjoy it.
- Tap the first button above and leave this page open until it says done. The counter tells you how far it got.
- Add the second accents set too if you are going to sit the full practice test at sea. Without it half the listening questions fall back to the first voice.
- Check it before you sail: turn on airplane mode while still ashore, open the practice test and play one recording. If it plays, you are ready.
- Add the site to your home screen (share menu on iPhone, browser menu on Android) so it opens like an app.
Good to know
- After saving, open the practice test, listening practice, the knowledge test or the glossary from your browser as usual, even in flight mode. Your results history stays in the browser too.
- When you are online again, the pages update themselves; recordings you already have are not downloaded twice.
- Add the site to your home screen (share menu on iPhone, browser menu on Android) and it opens like an app.
- Private browsing windows and "clear site data" remove the saved files. The feedback box and the counter need a connection; everything else works offline.
