Fire control plan symbols

The Fire Control Plan hangs at the companionways, and a copy sits in a marked container on the accommodation bulkhead, usually right at the entrance: that is the red tube a shore fire brigade reaches for when boarding. These 52 symbols are the legend of that plan: they say where the fire dampers, pumps, section valves and the spaces protected by fixed installations are. It is technical graphics drawn onto the ship's plan, without the normative background colours and board shapes of wall signs.
