Why a vocabulary quiz
- Recruitment tests check words in context. The vocabulary section asks for the word that fits the sentence: fairlead or fender, list or trim, heave or lower. The glossary gives the meaning; the quiz checks you can pick it fast.
- Hearing beats reading. The listen mode uses the same recordings as the glossary. If you cannot recognise "forecastle" or "leeward" when spoken, you will lose the order on deck.
- Then use the words: listening practice with radio calls and deck instructions, the SMCP trainer, and the full practice test.
