Detection and alarm
Fixed fire detection and fire alarm system
The system combines smoke, heat and flame detectors with manually operated call points. When it picks up signs of fire, the signal goes to the control station.
Key facts
- The system detects the signs of fire: smoke, high temperature, flames, and alarms the control station or another space manned by the watch.
- Next to the automatic detectors there are manually operated call points. Through them a person raises the alarm.
- For cargo spaces a sample extraction smoke detection system is used: the installation draws air from the holds and examines it in a central unit.
- A separate arrangement is the discharge warning alarm. It warns the people inside a space before an extinguishing agent is released.
