Give way or stand on?
You see the other ship from the bridge, usually at night by her lights alone. The bearing is nearly steady, the range is closing. You choose: I give way, or I keep my course and speed. The feedback gives you the rule number and the same situation on a radar.
What you practise here
The give-way decisions between vessels in sight of one another: Rule 12 (sailing vessels), 13 (overtaking), 14 (head-on), 15 (crossing), 17 and 18 (responsibilities between types). You recognise the type at night by the lights, as in the lights module.
Restricted visibility runs under Rule 19 and has its own exercise: the fog situations.
